Mosaics Workshops

Do you ever wish that you were more creative? Forget about knowing how to draw to make art- a mosaic is the way to go!

Making a mosaic adds some zest to anyone’s birthday party, builds rapport at a team-building event, creates community, and brings a family together in a fun way.

Location: Unless noted otherwise, workshops are currently held at my home studio on the south end of the city. Ask about bringing the workshop to you with a group of five or more.

Upcoming dates: Home workshops are held most Saturdays and Sundays, and are regularly posted on our Instagram page. Feel free to drop us a line (tparriag@gmail.com) if there aren’t any posted.

MOSAIC AFTERNOON WORKSHOPS: These are an introduction to mosaics at $65- which includes all materials, and a grouting kit. Suitable for all levels, they are 3 hours long (but many finish in 2 hours) and come with a variety of options to make.

There you will learn how to nip and glue glass tiles and create designs that work with your imagination. You are given a grouting demonstration and take a grouting kit with you so you complete that stage after the drying period. Also ask about specials for groups of five or more!

TWO & THREE DAY WORKSHOPS: Pricing is based on amount of hours for the entire session, with the same 2 to 3 hour length each day. These longer sessions are a way for people to connect with others while trying something new. In these sessions you create a larger piece, learn how to nip tiles, create and glue curved designs, and grout and polish your piece. All of the materials and tools you’ll need will be provided, so just bring anything for inspiration!

ONE-ON-ONE SESSIONS: If you have your own project in mind that you’d like to complete, this is for you. At $55 for an individual 2-hour session, you are guided from start to finish, all at your own pace.  You bring your tiles and the base you’d like to mosaic, and all tools and grout are provided.

Workshops with Community Groups

Any art workshops are a great way to relax while building self-confidence, and participants tend to find mosaics less intimidating than other art forms. Previously I have facilitated ongoing community art programs, as well as shorter term workshops with community groups in Toronto, Malaysia, Montreal, and several here in Ottawa.

Feel free to drop me a line if your organization is interested in having a workshop on site!
